The Process Simulation Working Group
The Process Simulation Working Group is an open forum for simulation-enthusiastic engineers. The biannual meetings focus on the technology-neutral exchange about the diverse application areas of process simulation and its challenges in practice.
Topic: Simulation techniques for process and logistics
Due to SimPlan’s expertise in numerous simulation tools, the idea is to give an overview of the spectrum of simulation applications in the process industry. The focus will be on modern simulation approaches that make it possible to take a holistic view of processes and logistics. This allows bottlenecks in the system to be identified, resources to be used more efficiently and decision-making to be improved through data-based scenarios.
- How do I decide which tool to use?
- Which tool suits which project requirements?
- Can different tools be linked in a practical way?
- Which questions related to packaged goods are relevant in the process industry?
An overview of various simulation techniques is planned, as well as a contribution on an ongoing research project on the topic of simulation of the entire value chain (beyond the pure production process). Further contributions from participants will present case studies of successful solutions. The meeting will again provide space for a workshop element and, of course, for extensive discussion and networking.
All participants are invited to contribute a talk about their experiences.
