Save-the-Date: AKPS 15 on October 2nd

On October 2nd, 2025, the 15th meeting of the Process Simulation Working Group will take place in Würzburg, Germany, by invitation from SIGMA Process & Automation GmbH.

The Process Simulation Working Group

The Process Simulation Working Group (German: Arbeitskreis Prozesssimulation – AKPS) is an open forum for simulation-enthusiastic engineers. The biannual meetings focus on the technology-neutral exchange about the diverse application areas of process simulation and its challenges in practice.

Topic: Generative AI in Engineering & Simulation

On October 2nd, 2025, the 15th meeting of the AKPS will take place in Würzburg at the invitation of SIGMA Process & Automation GmbH., following the Smart Process Manufacturing Congress (SPMK; see below for free tickets).

At this meeting, we would like to focus on the exciting and highly topical subject of Generative AI in Engineering & Simulation, as suggested by participants at the last meeting of the working group in April. That includes

  • a general introduction to Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs),
  • reports on the application of Gen AI in engineering projects, mainly with simulation references,
  • an interactive afternoon workshop with AI application and discussion.

Together, we want to discuss where and how Gen AI is already being used meaningfully today by us “simulators” and other engineers. Are you already using Gen AI for your tasks, or do you have good ideas on how Gen AI can support you in your engineering and simulation topics? And you would like to talk about this? Please feel free to contact us.

The host SIGMA is looking forward to welcoming all participants on the eve (October, 1, 2025) to invite you to a cozy networking dinner at a traditional brewery in Würzburg.

Register here for the next Process Simulation Working Group meeting on October 2nd, in Würzburg.

The meeting will take place immediately after the Smart Process Manufacturing Kongress (September, 30–October, 1) at the Vogel Convention Center in Würzburg. In addition to exciting presentations under this year’s motto Implementing Industry 4.0 quickly and efficiently, congress visitors can expect an informative exhibition and a culinary program. This year, Vogel is giving all members of the Process Simulation Working Group a free SPMK ticket. We will be happy to send you the code for this upon request.

We look forward to meeting you soon in person in Würzburg in person!
