INOSIM 2025.1: April Showers Bring May Flowers!

The latest release of INOSIM, our proven software for process simulation, will be available soon. Under the name INOSIM 2025, the new software will then be available for download here for our registered customers.

We want to provide you with newly developed functions more quickly in the future. Thus, the successor INOSIM 2025.1 will follow INOSIM 14, released in June 2024, in just a few weeks. Two new versions per year are to be released in the future, each containing minor changes like those presented below, while larger changes (new layout, new recipe editor) are being worked on in the background. INOSIM 2025.1 includes the following new features and Quality of Life updates.

Mighty Process Simulator: INOSIM 2025 comes with a lot of new, helpful features

New Features in INOSIM 2025.1

With INOSIM 2025.1 you can change even more objects via VBA and receive access free to the Packaged Goods add on as an Expert Edition user.

Recipe operations can be modified via VBA

Many users do not enter operation parameters in the recipe, but instead store them in Excel, for example, and use a parameter control that sets the properties of the OrderOperation object when the operation is executed. Often, the parameters are constant over the simulation run, but the value for each OrderOperation instance has to be set. With INOSIM 2025.1, it is now possible to change the basic operations (RecipeOperation objects) during the initialization of the simulation. This means that the parameter is set only once instead of thousands of times, depending on the model. This promises a performance improvement of 5-20% depending on the model. Furthermore, it is now easier to distinguish between static parameters set in the Init and dynamic parameters that continue to be calculated at runtime. We will also introduce this feature in a Tip & Trick shortly.

Shift Calendars Changeable Via VBA

To simplify the integration of shift calendars into the simulation, it is now possible to change the values of a Shift Calendar using VBA. For example, this allows a holiday calendar to be read in from a data source (we are also planning a new Tip and Trick on this soon), instead of manually entering everythingsometimes for several years. The Shift Calendar Objects (Shift calendar and, for example, workday definitions, etc.) still have to be created in the INOSIM database.

Packaged Goods Becomes Part Of The Expert Edition License

Users of the INOSIM Expert Edition can take advantage of the Packaged Goods Extension’s features at no cost. To simplify the start, the user documentation has been expanded with new VBA code examples. Of course, we also offer practise-oriented training.

Quality of Life Upgrades

To make working with INOSIM as pleasant as possible, a variety of minor changes have been made based on input from our users. Please feel free to continue to contact our Support with your ideas!

INOSIM Gantt Chartt

The date ruler in the Gantt chart is now wider and darker, making it easier to be seen. In addition to the height of curve lines, the height of bar lines can now also be adjusted pixel-precisely and can be reset to a standard value.
The width of the Gantt labeling area can now be reset (menu command Window > Reset Window Layout). Previously, the width could become so large due to unfortunate uncoupling from larger screens that it could no longer be easily changed.

Basic Editor

The Search and Search & Replace functions sometimes displayed results that were shifted by a few characters. This issue has been resolved by the developers of the INOSIM Basic environment.

Installation Within Your IT Infrastructure

The news INOSIM Installation Routine (setup.exe) comes with extended options (/skipnet and /uninstall).

Download

The new INOSIM 2025.1 will be available for download shortly. We will inform our registered users of the release date via a separate email.
